About O.J Dickson

OJ (Ogidi Joshua) Dickson is married to Queen Talatu Dickson and the union is blessed with two children: Barnabas and Pamela. OJ and Queen have a knack for youth and family ministry, and leadership within the family, religious institutions, and governance in the society. For the better part of their life, they have held several positions in different religious and secular organizations that are multi-racial, multi-lingual, multi-cultural.

O.J Dickson is a full-time pastor and adjunct lecturer and research supervisor. He is an upward mobile pastor who is addicted to excellence. He is highly result-oriented, detailed, motivated, resourceful, and multitasking; an organized upwardly mobile team leader of a tripartite cutting-edge ministry bordering on couples, youth and leadership success.

He is an insatiable researcher with special interest in inter- and intra-cultural dynamics, family discourse, leadership, and interpersonal social and traditional media networking. He began his academic journey as a quantity surveyor before the call to the ministry. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Jos ECWA theological seminary (JETS), a Master of Arts degree in Psychology and Biblical Counselling from the same Jos ECWA Theological Seminary (JETS), a Master of Theology degree in Practical Theology from university of Stellenbosch, South Africa, and a PhD in Practical Theology from University of Stellenbosch, South Africa.

O.J Dickson has, in addition to his academic achievements, garnered several professional certifications from prestigious institutions including Harvard University, among others. he is a resource and result oriented speaker and delivers contextual sermon and subjects at numerous conferences across the globe – in addition to supervising several research projects and thesis.

As a youth ministry practitioner, he has been involved in youth ministry within various secondary schools (Government Secondary School Karshi, Abuja, command secondary School Jos, Government Secondary School Jos, and Federal Government College Jos) and tertiary institutions (Public Relations Officer of Young Disciples International (Y.D.I) at Federal Polytechnic Bida campus, youth minister at E.C.W.A Student Ministry, University of Jos Nigeria, as an Elder responsible for Student ministry at Stellenbosch Baptist Church, and student ministry administrator with ECWA Student Fellowship University of Stellenbosch (ESFUS) and a few students’ society at Stellenbosch University, South Africa.

As a youth ministry academician, he is a part-time lecturer at his alma-mater, Jos ECWA Theological Seminary (JETS), ECWA Theological College, Karu, Abuja, and African Theological College, Khayelitsha, South africa. He is a member of International Association for the Study of Youth Ministry (IASYM) and Association of Youth Ministry Educators (AYME), and a research fellow with department of Practical Theology and missiology, Stellenbosch University. He also served as a departmental assistant within the department of Practical Theology and Missiology at Stellenbosch University, South Africa in 2015 and 2018. He is presently serving God in the youth and family ministry of ECWA Central Area Church, Abuja, Nigeria.
